מכתב מרמלה, מאת שלמה בן יהודה אל בנו אברהם בפוסטאט, מאי 1029 (לפי גיל), המתאר בפירוט רב את הצרות הכלכליות ושאר האסונות שפקדו את הארץ. כולל את השורה: "יש להתייחס לאומה (אלאמה) בעדינות, כשם שמתייחסים בעדינות לאדם חולה" (שורה 23 בצד ההפוך).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Ramla, from Shelomo b. Yehuda to his son Avraham in Fustat, May 1029 (per Gil), describing in great detail the economic and other calamities which haunted the country. Includes the line, "The nation (al-umma) must be treated gently, as a sick man is treated gently" (v23).
