חוזה שכירות בעברית. מתוארך ליום שלישי, ט"ו בסיוון שנת 54[..] לפרט, כלומר בין השנים 1640–1739 לספירה. המיקום הוא ככל הנראה קהיר, על סמך האזכור של חַארַת אל-סַקַאלִבַּה בשורה 4. שרה בת יצחק מלכי, אלמנתו של שמואל הלוי כעכ(?), בנוכחות מנחם, בנו של בעלה המנוח, משכירה את העלייה שמעל הקאעה שבה הם מתגוררים לאברהם הכהן בן יוסף לתקופה של 12 חודשים. דמי השכירות נקבעו על 30 מעדין לחודש ('יפים וטובים'). בצד האחורי (verso): שורה קצרה של כתיבה בעיפרון, באנגלית קורסיבית: "rest in I.". לא ברור מדוע מילים אלו נרשמו כחלק מתהליך שימור כלשהו, מה שהיה מסביר את השימוש בעיפרון.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Rental contract. In Hebrew. Dated: Tuesday, 15 Sivan 54[..], so 1640–1739 CE. Location: possibly Cairo, based on the reference to Ḥārat al-Saqāliba in line 4. Sara bt. Yiṣḥaq Malkhī, the widow of Shemuel ha-Levi Kaʿk(?), in the presence of her late husband's son Menaḥem, leases the ʿaliya above the qāʿa where they live to Avraham ha-Kohen b. Yosef for a period of 12 months. The rent is 30 medins per month ('fine and good' ones). Verso: Brief line of writing in pencil, in cursive English: "rest in I." It is unclear why these words would have been recorded as part of any conservation process, which would explain the usage of pencil.
