רישום משפטי (מס' 37) בפנקס בית דין מקהיר. בעברית. מקום: קהיר. מתוארך כ"ג אדר א' ה'תנ"ג, היינו 1693 לסה"נ. (מסמך מס' 37) שטר אירוסין בין הכלה והחתן המיועדים: ריינה בת יצחק פורטוגז ויצחק בן יעקב מצליח המכונה קנפינטון. תקופת האירוסין נקבעה לשלוש שנים שיובילו לחתונה. (מס' 38) הסדר כתובה לריקה בת אהרן הנודי/הנורי(?) לאחר מות בעלה ישראל הכהן. ריקה מחלקת את תשלום הכתובה לשלושה חלקים שווים, כאשר 4,000 מדין מועברים לבניה משה, מרדכי ואהרן הכהן, המתחייבים לספק לה קצבה שבועית של 45 מדין למחיה ומדור. המסמך כולל גם הוראות שלפיהן ריקה תוכל להתגורר עם שניים מבניה, מרדכי ואהרן, המתחייבים לדאוג לאמם אם תבחר בהסדר זה. שני בנים אלה צעירים יותר (וכנראה רווקים), שכן הם מכונים "בחורים", בעוד שאחיהם משה אינו מתואר כך. ככל הנראה לישראל הכהן המנוח הייתה גם בת — שאינה מוזכרת או שנפטרה — שכן חתנו נתן בן אפרים נזכר כחלק מהליכי הסדר ותשלום הכתובה. Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal record (#37) in a court register/pinqas from a beit din in Cairo (on f. 5r-v of T-S K22.27). In Hebrew. Location: Cairo. Dated 23 Adar I 5453 CE, which is 1693 CE. (Document #37) Engagement deed between the prospective bride and groom: Reyna bt. Yiṣḥaq Portugez and Yiṣḥaq b. Yaʿacov Meṣlīḥ aka Qanpīnṭōn. The engagement is set to last for three years leading up to the wedding. MCD. (#38) Ketubba settlement for Riqa bt. Aharon הנודי/הנורי(?) following the death of her husband Yisraʾel ha-Kohen. Riqa divides the payout from her ketubba equally in three parts with 4,000 medin going to her sons Moshe, Mordekhay, and Aharon ha-Kohen, who commit to provide her a weekly stipend of 45 medin for room and board. The document also includes provisions for Riqa to live with two of her sons, Mordekhay and Aharon, who commit to care for their mother should she elect for this arrangement. These sons are younger (and likely unmarried) given that they are named as "בחורים" whereas their brother Moshe is not listed as such. The deceased man Yisraʾel ha-Kohen likely had an unlisted or deceased daughter, because his son-in-law Natan Ben-Efrayim is mentioned as part of the ketubba settlement/payout proceedings. (#33) Lower lines of a dowry list, possibly from the prior document entry on the left side of bifolium 4v. The contents are extensive and include a wide variety of clothing, bedding, and extravagant gold/silver jewelry adorned with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and coral. (#34) Upper lines of a three-year rental agreement whose lower lines appear on the right side of bifolium 5r. The full names of the parties involved are: Mazal bt. Aharon Dasa/Rasa MCD.
