מכתב הפותח בפסוקי מקרא, ובהם תהלים ט״ז:ח, ל״ד:ח ול״ג:כא, ומזכיר סחורות כגון משי. המכתב ממוען לאב, ובראשו נוסחה יוצאת דופן: "בשמך רחמנא וחננא". חלק נכבד מהטקסט כתוב בפרוזה מחורזת ומהוקצעת, ובצירוף סגנון כתב היד ואזכור הסולטאן (שורה 8 בצד ב'), ניתן להעלות סברה כי מדובר במכתב של הרופא אבו זִכְּרי אל אביו אליהו הדיין בראשית המאה ה-13 (השוו למסמך נוסף מאותו חוג). ייתכן שהמכתב עוסק בהענקת כבוד או משרה מטעם השלטון; לאחר אזכור הסולטאן מצוטט אדם האומר "כן, נכבד אותו" (נַעַם נֻשַׁרִּפֻהֻ). הכתב דהוי מאוד וזקוק לבדיקה נוספת.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter, opening with biblical quotations, including Psalms 16:8, 34:8 and 33:21, and mentioning commodities such as silk. (Information from CUDL.) The letter is addressed to a father. It is headed by the unusual formula בשמך רחמנא וחננא. Much of the text is in elegant rhymed prose, which along with the handwriting and the mention of the sulṭān (v8), suggests that this could be a letter from the physician Abū Zikrī to his father Eliyyahu the Judge in the early 13th century (cf. T-S 24.72). Might have to do with the granting of a governmental honor/employment; after the mention of the sulṭān quotes somebody saying 'yes, we will honor him' (naʿam nusharrifuh). Very faded and needs examination. ASE
