מכתב מיעקב בן יצחק אל אבו עמראן [...] ואולי בסופו של דבר מיועד גם לבנו של הכותב (לולדי). המכתב כתוב בערבית-יהודית, והכתובת בכתב ערבי. הכותב מתלונן על המרחק ממשפחתו ועל מצבו הכלכלי הקשה, ומבקש להתעדכן בשלום קרוביו, ובמיוחד בשלומה של האישה הזקנה: "האם החלימה ממחלת עיניה? האם החלה להבחין בדברים מרחוק או מקרוב?". בצד השני (verso): מלבד כתובת המכתב המופיעה ברקטו, מצוי מכתב נוסף שנכתב בכתב ערבי. ייתכן שהתשובה נפתחת ב-"וצל כתאב חצ׳רה", ומיידעת את הנמען בעניין מסוים ("אעלם חצ׳רתך"). המכתב מסתיים בחמדלה ובתצליה. לא השתמר הרבה מתוכנו.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Yaʿqūb b. Isḥāq to Abū ʿImrān [...] and perhaps ultimately to the writer's son (li-waladī). In Judaeo-Arabic (for the letter) and Arabic script (for the address). The writer complains about his distance from his family and his financial straits and inquires about the well-being of his relatives, especially the old woman: "Has she recovered from the illness of her eyes? Has she started to make out things from a distance or from nearby?" Verso: Apart from the address of the letter on recto, there is a second letter, written in Arabic script. Perhaps the response begins with "waṣala kitāb ḥaḍrat [mawlāy]...", and informs the addressee of something "uʿlim ḥaḍratak". Ends with a ḥamdala and taṣliya. Excerpts: "I have sent you with the bearer of this letter [...] colors, half of which are crimson (qirmiz). Whatever errands you [have, honor me]with their fulfillment." ASE/YU.
