מכתב מאדם בשם מאיר אל 'ידידו ואחיו' אבו עמראן (המכונה 'התלמיד הנבון'). בערבית-יהודית. כתב היד של השולח מוכר ממסמכים נוספים (בולטות במיוחד אותיות הקו"ף האופייניות לו). התיארוך משוער למאה ה-12 או לראשית המאה ה-13. השולח מבשר על הגעתו ושולח דרישת שלום לנאמן אבו אלמכארם, לחזן אבו מנצור, לאבו אלמנא ולקרובי משפחה שונים. כמו כן הוא מבקש לקבל עדכון מפורט על חדשות הארץ, כאילו היה נוכח שם בעצמו, "ומי מת". Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from a certain Meʾir to his 'friend and brother' Abū ʿImrān ('ha-talmid ha-navon'). In Judaeo-Arabic. The sender's hand is familiar from other documents (distinctive qofs). Dating: probably 12th or early 13th century. Announcing his arrival and greeting the trustee Abū l-Makārim, the cantor Abū Manṣūr, Abū l-Munā, and various relatives. He also requests a detailed update on the news of the country, as if he were present, "and who died." (Information in part from Goitein's index card.)
