מכתב ליצחק חברוני בענייני כספים. התיארוך המופיע בקטלוג הוא 1559 לסה"נ [?], אך תאריך זה ככל הנראה שגוי: החודש המצוין הוא שַוַּאל (חודש מוסלמי), בעוד שהשנה נקראה כ"שי"ט" לפי הלוח העברי. קריאה זו אינה סבירה, שכן האות ש' בשם החודש "שוואל" שבכותרת אינה תואמת לאות הנדונה המופיעה באותה שורה עצמה. יש לקרוא את השנה כתאריך הג'רי, ואפשרויות סבירות הן 919, 1019 או 1119 לה'. מבין השלוש, 919 לה' (1513/14 לסה"נ) נראית הסבירה ביותר, אם כי כתב היד עשוי להשתייך למאות ה-16 עד ה-18. נדרשת בחינה נוספת לזיהוי האות הראשונה בשנה הכתובה באותיות-מספרים.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter to Yiṣḥaq Ḥevroni on financial matters. Dated: 1559 CE [?]. This date from FGP is likely incorrect given that the month listed is Shawwāl and the FGP metadata lists it as a Jewish-calendar year "שיט" AM. This reading is not feasible given that the ש in the month Shawwāl (שוואל) does not match the letter in question from the same line in the heading. This year ought to be read instead as a Hijrī date, perhaps 919, 1019, or 1119 AH. Of the three options 919 AH seems most likely (1513/14 CE), but the scribal hand could be 16th-18th-century. Further examination is required to identify the first letter in the alphanumerical year. MCD.
