שטר אפוטרופסות בכתב ידו של אברהם בנו של הגאון. מתוארך לאייר א'של"ז למניין השטרות (אפריל או מאי 1026). עלי בן יפת (המכונה בר עדי) ממונה לאפוטרופוס על יתומיו של משה הכהן בן ג'ליב, שנפטר לאחרונה מבלי לערוך צוואה. שניים מילדיו כבר בגירים — בן בשם ג'ליב (חתנו לעתיד של אפרים בן שמריה) ובת בשם מֻלְכּ — כפי שהעיד המנוח אלחנן 'ראש השורה', ואילו בן נוסף, מֻפַרַّג', הוא כבן ארבע בלבד. בין העדים נמצא ישועה בן צדקה, ועלי אמור לבצע את תפקידו כאפוטרופוס תחת פיקוחו של שלמה בן סעדיה (המכונה אבן צגיר).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Deed of guardianship in the hand of Avraham, son of the Gaon. Dated: Iyyar 1337 Seleucid (April or May 1026). Eli b. Yefet (known as Bar ʿAdi), is appointed guardian for the orphans of Moshe ha-Kohen b. Gulayb, who had recently died without making a will, two of whom, a son called Gulayb (a future son-in-law of Efrayim b. Shemarya) and a daughter called Mulk, are already of age, as was established by the late Elkhanan ‘Head of the Row’, while another son, called Mufarraj, is only four years old. Among the witnesses is Yeshuʿa b. Ṣedaqa, and ʿEli is to carry out his guardianship under the scrutiny of Shelomo b. Saʿadya (known as Ibn Ṣagir). (Information from CUDL)
