Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Abū l-Ḥasan Ibn al-ʿIrāqī (written on his behalf by Zikrī b. Khiyār) to the well-known druggist Abū Saʿīd Ibn al-ʿAfṣī. The sender has sent five molds of wax (qawālib shamaʿ), four small and one large, weighing 18 raṭls with Futūḥ al-Rikābī(?) the slave (ghulām) of the qāḍī. The addressee is to receive them, pay 6 dirhams to Futūḥ for his wage, and sell the wax. The sender also sends greetings to ʿAṭiyya b. Binyām al-Rashīdī and reminds him that he should sell the goods that are with Ibn Hiba (presumably Abū l-Ḥasan b. Hiba the druggist, whose name appears alongside that of Ibn al-ʿAfṣī in India Book II, 58 = T-S 10J16.15 (PGPID 5430)). He wishes to know how much the Genose saffron is valued at. The response should be sent back with Futūḥ. The letter closes with greetings to various people. The scribe Zikrī b. Khiyār sends greetings to Abū l-Faḍl and Abū l-Ṭayyib and Abū ʿImrān. There is a possibly unrelated Arabic date in the upper left margin of recto, 19 Dhū l-Hijja 501 or [5]51 AH, though neither of these maps onto the known active years of Ibn al-ʿAfṣī.
