מכתב מאב לבנו, צעיר שנכנס לאחרונה לשירות הממשלתי, ובו עצות באשר לפקידים שונים: על מי מהם ראוי לחזר אחר ידידותו, ומפני מי יש להישמר — אלה המגלים פנים ידידותיות אך מאחורי הגב 'גוזרים אותך לגזרים'. בין הנזכרים במכתב: אבו סעיד, מרהף אלדולה, הקאאד סלמאן, וכן 'אלחצ'רה אלזעימיה'. לפי גויטיין. ככל הנראה מדובר בצירוף עקיף (שזוהה על ידי אלן אלבאום) של שני קטעים נפרדים.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from a father to his son, a young man who had entered government service recently, advising him concerning some officials whose friendship should be sought out and others who show friendly faces but behind your back 'cut you to pieces.' Mentions people including Abū Saʿīd, Murhaf al-Dawla, the qāʾid Salmān, and 'al-haḍra al-zaʿīmiyya.' (Information in part from Mediterranean Society, V, p. 296.)
