מסמך משפטי בכתב ידו של נתן בן שמואל. מתוארך לחודש שבט שנת 1450 למניין השטרות = ינואר/פברואר 1139, תחת סמכותו של מצליח גאון. (זהו המסמך המאוחר ביותר הידוע כיום שבו מוזכרת סמכותו של מצליח גאון לפני מותו.) דלאל בת מחבוב מוכרת למונא (או ריני?) בת יצחק רבע מבית עם שתי חנויות בשוק הגדול תמורת 14½ דינרים. המסמך כולל שימוש מעניין בצירוף אל-סוק אל-כביר ו-סוק אל-כביר, כשבפעם השנייה מופיע ללא ה' הידיעה על שם העצם — מבנה לשוני שעליו נכתבה ספרות בלשנית ענפה; ראו לאחרונה את מאמרה של נעמה פת-אל "Digging up archaic features: Neo-Arabic and comparative Semitics in the quest for Proto Arabic", בתוך הכרך בעריכת א' אלג'לאד שהוקדש ל-400 שנות לימודי ערבית באוניברסיטת ליידן (עמ' 441–75, ובייחוד 444–49), וכן את מאמרו של פיליפ סטוקס על הצירוף "gahwat al-murra" והמעבר *at > ah בערבית, שפורסם בכתב העת BSOAS בשנת 2020 (עמ' 75–93).

Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal document in the hand of Natan b. Shemuel. Dated Shevat 1450 Seleucid = January/February 1139 CE, under the authority of Maṣliaḥ Gaʾon. (This is the latest known document to invoke the authority of Maṣliaḥ Gaʾon before his death.) Dalāl bt. Maḥbūb sells to Munā (or Rini?) bt. Yiṣḥaq a quarter of a house with two shops in the Great Bazaar for 14½ dinars. (Information from Mediterranean Society, IV, pp. 280, 352.) Contains an interesting use of the syntagm al-sūq al-kabīr and sūq al-kabīr, the second time without the definite article on the noun, a construction on which there is a large linguistic literature; see most recently Naʿama Pat-El, "Digging up archaic features: Neo-Arabic and comparative Semitics inthe quest for Proto Arabic," in A.
