איגרת הממוענת אל "קהלות הקדושות כורדיסתאן", חכמיהן ומנהיגיהן, ובמיוחד אל שמעון דוגא. הכותב היה ככל הנראה הדיין של נירוא. במכתב מתואר מקרה מחפיר שאירע בעיר: נבל בשם חנוכה חטף ילדה בת שמונה, בתו של נושא האיגרת נחמיה בן שמשון, במטרה לשאתה לאישה בעל כורחה ובניגוד לרצון הוריה. החוטף לקח אותה למבצר כלשהו בסביבת עִמאדיה, ואביה לא היה מסוגל לחלצה מחמת הפחד מן הגויים, שכפי הנראה סייעו בידי חנוכה. הדיין של נירוא מבקש מיהודי עִמאדיה לסייע בהצלת הילדה, וכן מבקש שכל תלמידי החכמים שבמחוז יקבלו הודעה לבל יערכו טקס נישואין כלשהו לקטינה זו ללא הסכמת אביה. Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter addressed to "the sages and leaders of the holy congregations of Kurdistan (קהלות הקדושות כורדיסתאן)" and specifically Shimʿon Duga. "The writer was probbly the Dayyān of Nirwa. An ugly case happened in this city when a scoundrel by the name of Ḥannuka kidnapped of girl of 8, the daughter of the bearer of this letter, Neḥemya b. Shimshon, in order to marry her against her will and that of her parents. The kidnapper took her away to some fastness in the neighborhood of ʿImādiya, and her father could not free her for fear of the gentiles who evidently aided Ḥannuka. The Nirwa Dayyān requests the ʿImādiya Jews to help in rescuing the girl. He also asks that all learned persons in the district be informed not to perform any marriage ceremony of this minor without her father's consent." (Information from Mann.)
