רישום משפטי (מס' 34) מתוך פנקס בית דין רבני בקהיר. בעברית. מיקום: קהיר. מתוארך לא' בניסן ה'תמ"ג, הוא 1683 לסה"נ. (מסמך מס' 34) הסכם בין השליח ברזילי הכהן מחברון לבין רבה הראשי של קהיר במחצית השנייה של המאה השבע-עשרה, ר' מרדכי הלוי (נפטר בשנת 1684 לסה"נ). ההסכם מפרט את התנאים שבהם יעתיק הלוי את מקום מגוריו לחברון וישתכן בבית מסוים, תוך קבלת קצבה שבועית וזכויות נוספות (כגון פטור מתשלום מסים). כל התנאים הללו מאושרים על ידי השליח, שבידיו ייפוי כוח לפעול בשם קהילת חברון.

Dated 1 Nisan 5443 AM, which is 1683 CE. (Document #34) Agreement between the shaliaḥ Barzilay ha-Kohen, of Hebron, and the head rabbi of Cairo in the latter half of the seventeenth century, R. Mordekhay ha-Levi (d. 1684 CE). The agreement lays out the terms for ha-Levi to take up residence in Hebron in a specific home, with a weekly stipend and privileges (such as tax payment exemptions). All these conditions are approved by the shaliaḥ who has the power of attorney to act on behalf of the Hebron community. MCD.
