קטע ממכתב ששלח נאשי בן ת'אבת הכהן אל החבר יוסף בן חלפון הלוי בפסטאט. התיארוך המשוער: בערך 1084–1090 לספירה. נאשי בן ת'אבת מביע את הכרת תודתו ל"רב הנכבד", ככל הנראה יהודה הכהן בן יוסף, שעמד מאחורי הסיוע שקיבל נאשי. נאשי בן ת'אבת כותב כי הוא "יושב על גחלים" משום שאין באפשרותו להשתתף בחתונה בשל המצור על העיר שבה הוא מתגורר. Princeton Geniza Project description: Fragment of a letter from Nāshī b. Thābit ha-Kohen to the ḥaver Yosef b. Ḥalfon ha-Levi (Fustat). Dating: ca. 1084-1090 CE. Nāshī b. Thābit sends his gratitude to “the distinguished Rav”, probably Yehuda ha-Kohen b. Yosef, who was behind the assistance received by Nāshī. Nāshī b. Thābit writes that he is “sitting on coals” because he is unable to attend a wedding owing to the blockade of the town in which he lives.
