מכתב בכתב ערבי מאת [...] אלחזّאן בדמשק אל אבו אלפרג' ישוע (?) בן ברהון אלחבר (= החבר). מתוארך ליום שלישי, י' באב (השנה אינה מצוינת). המכתב מזכיר את "האח, אדוני, ראס אלכֻּל" (שורה 5) וכולל מספר מילים בעברית, ביניהן "אויביו" (שורה 10). נראה כי חלק נכבד מהמכתב מוקדש לתיווך בסכסוך שבין ראס אלכֻּל לבין הנמען. נדרשת בחינה נוספת. הנייר נוצל מחדש בשלב מאוחר יותר עבור טקסט הלכתי בעברית ובארמית. חלק מהמידע מבוסס על כרטיסיית רישום של גויטיין.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter in Arabic script from [...] al-Ḥazzān, in Damascus, to Abū l-Faraj Yashūʿ (?) b. Barhūn al-Ḥibr (= the ḥaver). Dated: Tuesday, 10 Shaʿbān (year not given). Mentions "the brother, my master, Raʾs al-Kull" (line 5) and contains a few words in Hebrew including "his enemies" (line 10). Much of the letter seems to be devoted to mediating a conflict between the Raʾs al-Kull and the addressee. Needs further examination. The paper was later reused for a halakhic text in Hebrew and Aramaic. Information in part from Goitein's note card. ASE.
