מכתב מאת שלמה בן יהודה גאון, או מאת אברהם בנו של שלמה בן יהודה (גיל מזהה את כתב היד באופן שונה עבור חלקים שונים של החיבור בין הקטעים). תיארוך: 1025. המכתב מודיע על פטירתם של הגאונים לשעבר יאשיהו ושלמה הכהן — קודמו המיידי של שלמה בן יהודה — אשר נפטר "ששה ימים קודם ראש השנה". המחבר מצטט מן התלמוד הבבלי והירושלמי (או אולי מן המדרש) כדי לטעון שחובה לברך אף בעת צרה ופורענות. החיבור בין הקטעים נעשה על ידי עודד צינגר.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Shelomo b. Yehuda Gaʾon or from Avraham, the son of Shelomo b. Yehuda (Gil identifies the hand differently for different fragments of the join). Dating: 1025. Announces the deaths of the former geʾonim Yoshiyyahu and Shelomo ha-Kohen, Shelomo’s immediate predecessor, who died "six days before Rosh ha-Shana."
