מכתב רשמי מלשכתו של יהושע בן אברהם השני המימוני (נולד ב-1310, נפטר ב-1355) או של אביו, אברהם השני המימוני (כיהן בנגידות בין השנים 1300 לסביבות 1316). גויטיין נוטה לייחס את המכתב לאב, על אף שאותו לבלר עצמו כתב מסמכים רבים נוספים עבור הבן יהושע. המכתב נכתב סביב ראש השנה היהודי (לרוב בסוף ספטמבר), ובו יהושע הנגיד מורה כי תיערך התרמה "מן הנשים" שתיגבה על ידי שתי נשים, האחת מהן היא אשתו של השמש סולימאן. הנשים מכונות במכתב בלשון "בית", על פי הניב התלמודי "ביתו זו אשתו" (ראו מארק כהן, Voice of the Poor, עמ' 196–98).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Official letter from either the office of Yehoshuaʿ Maimonides (b. 1310– d. 1355) or his father Avraham II Maimonides (served 1300 to ca. 1316). (Goitein favors the latter, even though the same clerk wrote many more documents for Yehoshuaʿ. Cohen considers this Yehoshuaʿs.) This was written at the time of the Jewish New Year (usually late September) in which Yehoshuaʿ Nagid commands that a collection 'from the women' be taken up by two women, one of them the wife of the beadle Sulayman.
