recto: מכתב בקשת עזרה ממחפוט' בן מוסא ואחיו מסלם/מסלים, בערבית-יהודית בכתב קליגרפי. הכותב מתאר את ההשפלה שעברה משפחתו (או אשתו?) מידי השלטונות (אלסלטאן) בשל פיגוריו בתשלום מס הגולגולת (המכונה כאן ח'ראג') בשנתיים האחרונות ('שנים 8 ו-9'). הוא מבקש סיוע. verso: מסמך בכתב ערבי, שנראה כי הוא מזכיר כמויות שונות וכן זעפראן.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Recto: Letter of appeal from Mahfūẓ b. Mūsā and his brother Musallam/Muslim. In calligraphic Judaeo-Arabic. The writer describes the humiliation his family (or wife?) has experienced at the hands of the authorities (al-sulṭān) because he is delinquent in paying the capitation tax (here called kharāj) for the last two years ('years 8 and 9').
