מכתב מעמאר ב' [...] לרייס בו אל-מופצ'ל. בכתב ערבי. תאריך: ככל הנראה מהמאה ה-12 או ה-13. הכותב מדווח על מהלך טיפול מסוים לבעיות עיניים הכוללות דלקות, עמימות ראייה, אישונים מורחבים. הטיפול כלל ציפויים, טיפות עיניים ומרשם לשתייה. צמחי מרפא: אניס, ורד, לוונדר, אורגנו, מסטיק, שוש, מירובלן ואלוורה. הכותב מזכיר את מעברו לאחרונה לעיר קליוב.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from ʿAmmār b. [...] to al-Rayyis Bū l-Mufaḍḍal. In Arabic script. Dating: likely 12th or 13th century. The writer reports on a particular course of treatment for eye problems that included inflammations, dimness of vision, expanded pupils. The illness was treated with lamellae, eye drops and with the prescription of a potion to be taken after breakfast. Simples mentioned include anise, rose, lavender, oregano, mastic, liquorice, myrobalan, and aloe. The writer mentions his recent move to the town of Qalyūb.
