קטע ממכתב בערבית-יהודית, כתוב בכתב מרובע גדול. במכתב מופיעה המילה "מחמודה" שיכולה להתפרש בשתי דרכים: או כשם של חומר רפואי (סקמוניה, צמח משלשל ששימש ברפואה), או כשם תואר במשמעות "משובחת" או "ראויה לשבח". לא ברור איזו מהמשמעויות נתכוונה כאן, אך סביר יותר שמדובר במשמעות השנייה. השולח ממשיך ופונה אל הנמען בעצות מוסר ובדברי עידוד: "...זה יהיה טוב עבורך, ושמח... תקן את ביטחונך באדונך... והוא יציל אותך... וקבל את אשר אומר לך והיה שבע רצון בכך... זוהי הטובה ביותר עבורך... וזה אשר אני אומר לך... אדם, ואכן האל גזר... לטובה." Princeton Geniza Project description: Fragment of a letter in Judaeo-Arabic, written in a large square script. Mentions the word "maḥmūda" which can either be a medical ingredient (scammony) or simply the adjective "praiseworthy." It is not clear which one is intended here, but probably the latter. The sender continues with exhorting the addressee with moral advice: "... this will be good for you, and rejoice... rectify your certainty in your Lord... and He/it will save you... and receive what I tell you and be content in it... this is the best for you... and this is what I tell you... a person, indeed God has judged... for the better."
