מכתב אל חנה אשת יוסף אלבוטיני בקהיר (מצרי׳), מאת אחד מאחיה, ובו הוא מבקש ממנה להשפיע על אחיהם לשלם את החוב שהוא חייב לכותב. הכותב שוהה בטירייא, ייתכן שמדובר בעיירה המצרית אל-טיריה השוכנת על זרוע הנילוס הרשידי (אין זה מקום נפוץ במסמכי הגניזה והדבר טעון בירור ואישור נוספים). בגוף המכתב מופיע אזכור של איסטנבול עיר הבירה העות'מאנית (שורה 33v), דבר המסייע לתארך את המכתב לאחר שנת 1453 לסה״נ, היינו לאחר נפילת קונסטנטינופול. בכתובת המכתב לא מופיעה המילה "אכת" (אחות) כפי שקרא גויטיין, אלא תואר הכבוד "מב׳׳ת", הנפוץ בכינויי נשים בגניזה של ראשית העת החדשה (על פי שופטים ה׳ כ״ד: "מנשים באהל תבורך"). שמה של חנה מופיע בכתובת כך: אחותי רעיתי תמתי חנה מב׳׳ת אשת הר׳ יוסף אלבוטיני יצ׳׳ו.

Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter to Ḥana the wife of Yosef al-Boṭinī, in Cairo (מצרי׳), from one of her siblings asking her to convince their brother to pay what he owes to the writer. The writer's location is טירייא, possibly the Egyptian town al-Ṭayriyya on the Rashidī branch of the Nile (this is not a common location in geniza documents and requires further research/confirmation). The body of the letter mentions the Ottoman capital city of İstanbul (l. 33v), which helps to estimate the dating of the letter as post-1453 CE after the fall of Constantinople. The address does not include the word "אכת" (sister) as Goitein read it but rather the honorific "מב׳׳ת" which is common among women's nomenclature in the early modern Geniza (drawing on Judges 5:24: "by the w[omen of the tent may they be blessed]"). Ḥana's name appears in the address as: אחותי רעיתי תמתי חנה מב׳׳ת אשת הר׳ יוסף אלבוטיני יצ׳׳ו. (MCD with information from Goitein's index cards)
