מכתב המכיל איחולים וברכות. נכתב בעיצוב האופייני למכתבים רשמיים או קהילתיים: עמוד צר, רווח בינוני־רחב בין השורות, ובתחתיתו עלאמה (סיסמה) — "לעד ישועה" — המוכרת כסיסמתם של דניאל בן עזריה ושל בנו דוד בן דניאל. הברכות או דברי הברכה מופנים אל חלפון הנדיב ואל מרדכי הזקן ("ידיד הנשיאות"), אל שלושת בניו, וכן אל שלמה הזקן ואל שני בניו.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter containing good wishes. Written with the layout of an official/communal letter: narrow page, moderately wide space between the lines, and an ʿalāma (motto) at bottom (la-ʿad yeshuʿa, typical of both Daniel b. ʿAzarya and his son David b. Daniel). The blessings or congratulations are for Ḥalfon ha-Nadiv and Mordekhay the elder ("the friend of the Nesiʾut"), and his thee sons, and Shelomo the elder and his two sons.
