מכתב דמוי עצומה בכתב ערבי. (שימו לב שהוא נשמר הפוך והוורסו הוא תחילת המכתב.) פותח בתקביל; הנמען ניחן בתארים כגון '...אל-מאלכי אל-מונעמי אל-פד'לי אל-סיידי...'; בוורסו השולח מכנה את 'עבד אדונינו היבה [...]'; מוזכר מנורת שמן (סיראג' אל-זית), ומסביר ש'הוא' (כנראה היבה) הוא איש עני הנזקק לסיוע.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Petition-like letter in Arabic script. (Note that it is preserved backward and verso is the beginning of the letter.) Opens with a taqbīl; the addressee is given such titles as "...al-mālikī al-munʿimī al-faḍlī al-sayyidī...."; on verso the sender refers to "your ['the master's'] slave Hiba [...]"; mentions an oil lamp (sirāj al-zayt), and explains that "he" (probably Hiba) is a poor man in need of assistance.
