מכתב בקשה ששלח ראש הישיבה בדמשק, שהיתה שקועה בחובות, לנכבד בפוסטאט שהתחייב לתרום לטובת הישיבה. במכתב הוא מאיץ בו לשלוח את תרומתו בסך שמונה דינרים לאלתר, כדי למנוע מצב שבו כל הסכום ילך לתשלום הריבית בלבד. (המידע מבוסס על גויטיין, החברה הים-תיכונית, כרך א', עמ' 257 ו-464, ועל כרטיסיות העבודה של גויטיין.) בגב הקטע מופיע שימוש חוזר זהה לזה שבקטעים הסמוכים — סיפור מקראי על יוסף.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter of request sent by the head of the yeshiva in Damascus, which was burdened with debts, to a notable in Fustat, who had pledged a donation for the academy, urging him to send his contribution of eight dinars immediately to prevent the whole sum from going for the payment of interest alone.
