מכתב המבקש אישור לעריכת מגבית למען נערה יתומה העומדת להינשא. במרכז הבקשה הנוגעת ללב, המופנית אל מנהיג יהודי (נגיד), עומדים מזון וביגוד: "אין להם דבר לארוחת הערב". הנערה הצעירה ודאי הייתה חסרת כול מבחינת לבוש, שכן הכותב מציין כי אפילו תוניקת פולו פשוטה (ג'וכאניה) ומלחפה — שתשמש הן כבגד ליציאה והן ככיסוי בלילה — יתקבלו בהכרת תודה.
