מכתב הממוען להודיה בן ישי ראש הגולה מדמשק, אשר ביקר במצרים בשנות ה-30 של המאה ה-13 במטרה לאסוף כספים מהקהילות היהודיות שם, והאריך את שהותו מעבר למצופה. במכתב מוזכר כי אחיו של הודיה (ככל הנראה שלמה בן ישי) ביקר בקהילה שממנה נשלח המכתב. ממסמכים אחרים ידוע שהודיה שהה זמן רב באלכסנדריה, וייתכן שהמכתב נשלח אליו לשם. בצד השני (verso): מכתב בערבית ובין שורותיו ניסויי קולמוס.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter addressed to Hodaya b. Yishai the Exilarch from Damascus who visited Egypt in the 1230s to solicit money from the communities there and overstayed his welcome. This letter mentions that Hodaya's brother (probably Shelomo b. Yishai) had visited the community from which the letter was sent. From other documents we know that Hodaya spent a lot of time in Alexandria, and this letter may have been sent to him there. Verso: Letter in Arabic with pen trials written between the lines.
