חלק עליון של מכתב בעברית, אולי מתוארך 534[.] = שנות ה-1580 לספירה, אך הביטוי 'וזה שעה השמים' הוא כנראה גימטרייה ולא פענוח השנה. הכתב נראה מאוחר מהמאה ה-16. המכתב מופנה ל'אחי כנפשי', מזכיר הגעת הכותב לאלכסנדריה מקהיר ולאחר מכן: 'אשלם לך כשתבוא לירושלים'. מוזכר יצחק אלמסיני (=אלמוסינו?) בשורה 12. לאחר מכן שוב נעשה שימוש במסמך, בשני צדדיו, לחשבונות, אולי תרומות קהילתיות.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Upper part of a letter in Hebrew possibly dated 534[.] = 1580s CE, but the phrase וזה שעה השמים is probably gematriya rather than a rendering of the year [.]השמ. The paleography of the letter appears later than 16th-century. It is addressed to "my brother who is like my soul" and mentions the writer's arrival in Alexandria from Cairo, and, later, "I will pay you when you come to Jerusalem." Mentions Yiṣḥaq Almsini (=Almosino?) in l. 12. The document was then reused, recto and verso both, for accounts, perhaps communal donations.
