מכתב כמעט פיוטי מאת גאון, אולי שלמה בן יהודה. ייתכן שהביפוליו הזה נכרך כחלק מאוסף מכתבים שנערך לאחר מותו(?). אישה שננטשה על ידי בעלה במשך שנים רבות גידלה את בנה היחיד, וכאשר הגיע לגיל מתאים שלחה אותו לחפש את אביו, אך הנער מצא את מותו בדרך. לצד ניסיונות הניחומים מתייחס הגאון לחוב של 300 דינרים ולהפסדים שספג נמען המכתב. בסרט המיקרופילם הצד האחורי (verso) מופיע לפני הצד הקדמי (recto). המידע מבוסס על גויטיין, חברה ים-תיכונית, כרך ג'.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Almost poetic letter of a Gaon, perhaps Shelomo b. Yehuda. This bifolio was possibly bound as part of posthumous(?) collection of letters. A woman deserted by her husband for many years had brought up her only son and when he was old enough had sent him out to find his father, but the boy perished on his way. Along with attempts at consolation the Gaon refers to a debt of 300 dinars and losses incurred by the recipient of his letter. On microfilm the verso appears before the recto.
