מכתב מבניהו בן מוסא, יהודי אלכסנדרוני ממוצא מגרבי, אל נהראי בן נסים בפוסטאט. המכתב כולל תלונות חריפות על יחסם של יהודי אלכסנדרון המקומיים כלפי הזרים, ובמיוחד כלפי בני המגרב. המכתב שופך אור על מחלוקת קהילתית גדולה שהגיעה עד לרשויות המוסלמיות וכמעט הביאה את הכותב להמיר את דתו לאסלאם. במכתב מוזכר אגב אורחא אברהם אלדרעי כשוהה באלכסנדריה, וככל הנראה כמי שמקיים יחסי ידידות עם הכותב. בניהו גם מביע את דאגתו לשלום הנמען, המחלים ממחלה (שורות 3–6 בצד הפנים). Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter of Benayahu b. Musa, an Alexandrian from Maghribi origin, to Nahray b. Nissim in Fustat. The letter contains severe complaints on the local Alexandrian Jews treatment of foreigners, especially from the Maghrib. The letter sheds light on a big communal dispute which reached the Muslim authorities and almost caused the writer to convert to Islam. The letter mentions in passing Avraham al-Deri as being in Alexandria and, apparently, as being on friendly terms with the writer. Benayahu also conveys his preoccupation for the addressee, who is recovering from an illness (r3–6). (Information from Frenkel)
