מכתב מעלי בן יחזקאל הכהן בירושלים אל אבו אלפרג' חיים (בן שלמה החבר) ואבו אלפרג' הבה (בן צמח) ברמלה. גויטיין וגיל זיהו את השולח על פי כתב היד, וגיל זיהה גם את הנמענים. השולח דוחק בנמענים להשפיע על הקאצ'י הראשי ברמלה, אבו אלמעאלי, שיורה הוראות מתאימות לקאצ'י של ירושלים, אלתיזי, בעניין בעיה בירושלים שטיבה אינו ברור. במכתב מוזכרים גם שמות נוספים, ובהם אבו אלמנג'א מסלם, אבו ע'אלב, והסוכן (וכיל) אבו עלי אבן אלצופי.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from ʿEli b. Yeḥezqel ha-Kohen, in Jerusalem, to Abū l-Faraj Ḥayyim (b. Shelomo, the ḥaver) and Abū l-Faraj Hiba (b. Ṣemaḥ), in al-Ramla. The sender is identified by both Goitein and Gil on the basis of handwriting; the addressees are identified by Gil. The sender urges the recipients to influence the chief qāḍī in al-Ramla, Abū l-Maʿālī, to give appropriate instructions to the qāḍī of Jerusalem, al-Tīzī, regarding a problem in Jerusalem of unclear nature. Mentions several other names, including Abū l-Munajjā Muslim, Abū Ghālib, the agent (wakīl) Abū ʿAlī Ibn al-Ṣūfī. (Information mainly from Gil and from Goitein's index card.)
