מכתב הממוען לנגיד — או מבורך בן סעדיה או משה בן מבורך (?). בערבית-יהודית. בכתב ידו של החזן והסופר חלפון בן מנשה הלוי (פעיל בין השנים 1100–1138 לסה"נ). התיארוך הוא 1100–1138 לסה"נ, בהתבסס על שנות פעילותו של חלפון, אך ניתן לצמצם את טווח התיארוך באמצעות בירור מעמיק יותר של זהות הנגיד שאליו נשלח המכתב. השולח ממליץ על נושא המכתב, החזן ישראל שהגיע בשנה זו ממהדייה, ומבקש לזכותו בצדקה. דרושה בחינה נוספת.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter addressed to the Nagid, either Mevorakh b. Saʿadya or Moshe b. Mevorakh (?). In Judaeo-Arabic. In the scribal hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe ha-Levi (fl. 1100-1138 CE). Dating: 1100-1138 CE, based on the years when Ḥalfon was active but this estimate can be narrowed through further review of which Nagid was the letter recipient. The sender recommends the bearer, the cantor Yisraʾel who arrived this year from al-Mahdiyya, for charity. Requires further examination.
