מכתב בכתב ידו של הרמב"ם (בקירוב 1168–1204), הכולל מרשם רפואי המורכב ממי (ברזל), מסטיק ונרד הודי, ולצידו אזכור תמוה של מספר עצום של ספינות עץ: "הגיעו מן [הספינות] העץ אשר חסמו את הים/הנילוס, 100 ספינות ו-18 ספינות גדולות, כולן עץ." הצירוף בין הקטעים זוהה. ראו את מאמרה של א' וגנר משנת 2007 על קטע שהתגלה לאחרונה ממכתב שכתב הרמב"ם.
