מכתב הממוען לאחות, כתוב בכתב ערבי. כתב היד יפה במיוחד ובעל אופי ייחודי. נראה שסופר מאוחר יותר השתמש שוב בחלק ניכר מהשוליים ובמרווחים שבין השורות, עד כדי כך שלעיתים קשה להכריע אם שורה מסוימת שייכת למכתב המקורי או לא. הצד הקדמי (recto) מורכב ברובו משבחים וברכות שגרתיות. הצד האחורי (verso) עוסק כנראה בעניינים יותר ספציפיים, אך קשה לפענח אותם. החל משורה 7 בצד האחורי השולח/ת מתאר/ת את מה שמטריד את ליבו/ה, ובכלל זה "הכאב בגופי והמחלה" ולאחר מכן "צערי על העולם". בשורה 10 הנמענת מתבקשת לעשות משהו (uḥruṣī...). דרוש עיון נוסף.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter addressed to a sister. In Arabic script. The handwriting is quite beautiful and distinctive. It seems that a later scribe reused a lot of the margins and interlinear spaces, to the point that it is sometimes difficult to tell whether a line belongs to the original letter or not. Recto consists mostly of formulaic praises and blessings. Verso seems to be discussing more specific issues, but it is difficult to figure out. From verso l. 7 onward the sender describes what is troubling her or his heart including "the pain in my body and illness" and then "my sorrow over the world." In l. 10 the recipient is urged to do something (uḥruṣī...). Needs further examination.
