מכתב שנכתב בפוסטאט ביום ו' טבת (ללא שנה) מבן לאמו (שורה 17, 'יא ואלדתי'). רגשי מאוד. מזכיר אלכסנדריה ופשתן, וגם שהבן היה בפוסטאט מצפה למכתבי אמו מבלי לקבלם, ודאג כל כך שלא יכל לאכול או לשתות. לאחר מכן הגיעו אנשיהם ומסרו מכתבים מהאם, הוא קרא אותם והרגיש מעט הקלה. האם הזכירה פשתן שמילא את הכותב בשמחה, אך גם את המצב הקשה בו הייתה, כולל כאב וצום. נעשה בו שימוש חוזר על ידי אביו של הכותב למכתב בכתב ערבי (ראה רשומה נפרדת).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter written in Fustat on 6 Ṭevet (no year) from a son to his mother (l. 17, yā wālidatī). Very emotional. Mentions Alexandria and flax, but also that the son had been in Fustat expecting his mothers' letters but not receiving them, and was so worried that he could neither eat nor drink. Then their aṣḥāb arrived and delivered his mother's letters, he read them and was a bit relieved. The mother mentioned flax, which made the writer happy, but also the difficult situation she was in, including pain and fasting. Reused by the writer's father for a letter in Arabic script presumably sent back to him in Fustat (see separate entry).
