רשומה משפטית (מס' 35) מתוך פנקס בית דין בקהיר. בעברית. מיקום: קהיר. מתוארכת לעשור האמצעי של אדר ב' ה'תנ"ג, היינו 1693 לסה"נ. (מסמך #35) שותפות עסקית להשקעה בין אברהם דושן(?) (דושן) לבין האלמנה מרחבא בת שלמה הלוי. מרחבא הייתה נשואה לדודהּ מצד אביה חיים, על סמך הביטוי שבא אחרי שמה ושם אביה: "אלמנת אחיו המ[נו]ח כה״ר חיים נ״ע" (המילה הפגומה "המנוח" מאוששת מן הרשומה הסמוכה בפנקס בית הדין). שפת המקור של שם המשפחה דושן(?) אינה ידועה — אם מדובר בבן הקהילה האשכנזית, אין לשלול את שם המשפחה הצרפתי Duchêne (chêne = עץ אלון).

Dated in the middle third of Adar II 5453 CE, which is 1693 CE. (Document #35) Investment partnership between Avraham Dūshan(?) (דושן) and the widow Marḥaba bt. Shelomo ha-Levi. Marḥaba had been married to her paternal uncle Ḥayyīm, based on the phrase following her initial patronymics: אלמנת אחיו המ[נו]ח כה׳׳ר חיים נ׳׳ע (the damaged word המנוח is confirmed in the subsequent court register entry). The language of origin for the surname (?)דושן is unknown– if this was an Ashkenazi member of the community then the French surname Duchêne is not out of the question (chêne = oak tree). MCD.
