Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal record (#111) in a court register/pinqas from a Karaite beit din in Cairo (on f. 36v of Yevr.-Arab. I 328). Dated 10 Iyyar 5327 AM (1567 CE). Rental agreement for a property held in the Karaite pious endowment of Cairo. ʿAbd al-Wāḥid al-Ḥakīm b. Yehuda ha-Rofe ha-dayyan appears before Shemuʾel ha-dayyan, in the latter's own home, in order to rent a portico (riwāq) property. There is an interlinear addition above l. 5 that pours over into the margin which helps contextualize the meaning of riwāq, at term that might not literally mean "portico" as is conventionally translated because a shop and a residence are specified: "the shop (and?) residence of Farjallah b. Yehuda al-Levi the cook (al-ṭabbakh)." MCD.
