מכתב ששלח שולח אלמוני מעדן אל אבו יעקוב בן הבת אללה (?) בלוואמנדה (?), ככל הנראה אי לחופה המערבי של בורמה. "הנגיד דוד שלנו" המוזכר במכתב הוא ככל הנראה צאצא של חלפון בן מצמון, ונראה כי הוא היה זה שדאג לאינטרסים של הנמען. המכתב מדווח על התנאים המדיניים והכלכליים הנוחים השוררים במצרים ומייעץ לנמען בנוגע למחירי סחורות שונות, ובהן פלפל, שני זנים של קמפור (כפור), אגוז מוסקט וציפורן. כן מוזכרים בו ריבס (רהובארב), גלנגל (גלנגן) ועץ בושם ארומטי. עדן, בסביבות שנת 1180.
Princeton Geniza Project description: IB II, 65. Letter from an unknown sender in Aden to Abū Yaʿqūb b. Hibat Allah (?) in Lawāmanda (?), possibly an island off the west coast of Burma. "Our nagīd David" mentioned in this letter is probably a descendant of Ḥalfon b. Maḍmūn. The recipient's interests were apparently protected by this 'Nagid David'. The letter reports on the favorable political and economic conditions in Egypt and advises the recipient on the price of commodities such as pepper, two varieties of camphor, nutmeg, and cloves. It also mentions rhubarb, galangal, and aromatic wood. Aden, ca. 1180.
