מכתב מאת אברהם (אבראהים) בן יוסף אלצבאע' מפוסטאט אל ברהון בן מוסא אלתאהרתי באלכסנדריה, מתוארך לסביבות שנת 1050. אברהם בן יוסף אלצבאע', אחד משותפיו העסקיים של יוסף בן יעקב בן עוכל, מתאר במכתב את היחסים המתוחים והמסובכים בין הסוחרים המגרבים לבין ג'בארה, אמיר העיר ברקה שבלוב. הכותב מצפה למשלוח של עופרת סיציליאנית. המכתב כולל פרטים מעניינים על שיטות הפיראטיות שנקט ג'בארה, ואברהם מבקש מהנמען לפדות את סחורתו — ובמיוחד את העופרת — אם תגיע באוניית השודד. המידע מבוסס על גיל (ממלכת ישמעאל, כרך ב', עמ' 611) ועל כרטיסיות והערות של גויטיין.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Ibrahīm b. Yosef al-Ṣabbāgh (Fustat) to Barhūn b. Mūsā al-Tāhartī (Alexandria), ca. 1050. Avraham b. Yosef al-Ṣabbāgh, one of Yosef b. Yaʿaqov b. ʿAwkal’s business partners, describes the strenuous relationships between Maghrebi merchants and Jabbāra, the amir of Barqa, Libya. Avraham b.
