מכתב עסקי המתאר תנאי שוק קשים שבהם המחירים גבוהים ואסון סביבתי השמיד את רוב היבול. כתוב בכתב ערבי. מוזכרים בו הכותנה ומכירתה (القطن وبيعه), ומתואר כיצד סוחר אחד שקל אותה בקפדנות יתרה משום שמחירה גבוה. בצדו האחורי של המכתב נכתב: "שלח את תשובת המכתב הזה לבלביס עם החדשות והמצב שלך". יתר הסחורות אינן נמכרות (سائر البضائع غلت واقفة). השולח עשה משהו עם 450 (יחידה לא ברורה) של אינדיגו (צבע ניל). השולח חוזר ומדגיש שהכותנה יקרה מאוד, ומציין: "[...] יבול השנה הזו, שכן באה עליו חמה אדירה, יוצאת דופן, עצומה מ-[...]" (fa-qad jāhu ḥarr ʿaẓīm fadhdh aʿẓam al-[...]).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Business letter describing dire market conditions where prices are high and an environmental catastrophe destroyed most of the crops. In Arabic script. Mentions cotton and its sale (القطن وبيعه); describes how one trader weighed it out very carefully, because its price is high. On verso, "send the response of this letter to Bilbays with your news and condition." The remainder of the goods are not selling (sāʾir al-baḍāʾiʿ ghalat wāqifa). The sender has done something with 450 (what unit?) of indigo. The sender repeats that cotton is very expensive, and "[...] the crop of this year, for a tremendous, extraordinary heat came (fa-qad jāhu ḥarr ʿaẓīm fadhdh aʿẓam al-[...]."
