רשומה משפטית (מס' 67) בפנקס בית דין קראי בקהיר (בדף 22v). מתוארכת ל-27 ב[אל]ול ה'שכ"ד (1564 לסה"נ). הסדר חוב ופירוק שותפות בין יצחק בן דוד הכהן, המכונה בעלם(?) (עִלם?), לבין יוסף בן צדקה, המכונה נקאש, בקשר לחנות שהשניים החזיקו יחדיו כחלפנים. ראוי לציין שככל הנראה כוונת הסופר במילים "פי אלצ'יארפה" הייתה ציון מקום: למשל, ביטוי זה עשוי להתפרש כ-"פי [וכאלת] אלצ'יארפה", בניין מסחרי שיתופי גדול במרכז קהיר סמוך לרובע היהודי, שבו החזיקו צ'ראפים (חלפנים) חנויות פרטיות עד המאה השמונה-עשרה (לפי ריימון). לפי תנאי הסדר החוב, יצחק בן דוד הכהן מתחייב להחזיר לשותפו לשעבר את הסכום הגדול יחסית של 75 אשרפי זהב בתשלומים חודשיים של 3 אשרפי (25 חודשים), החל בחודש כסלו (ה'שכ"ה). מתחת לרשומת בית הדין הזו מופיעות הערות נוספות הקשורות לאותו עניין, ובהן טיוטה לא גמורה של הרשומה הבאה בפנקס (מס' 68), שבה מצוין חוב נוסף בסך 100 [אשרפי] ג'דיד עם תקופת פירעון של חודשיים המסתיימת בחשוון (סמוך מאוד לפני מועד תחילת ההחזרים בקצב של 3 אשרפי לחודש המתוארים ברשומה 67).

Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal record (#67) in a court register/pinqas from a Karaite beit din in Cairo (on f. 22v of Yevr.-Arab. I 328). Dated 27 [El]ul 5324 CE (1564 CE). Debt settlement and partnership dissolution between Yiṣḥaq b. David al-Kohen, aka בעלם(?) (ʿIlm?), and Yosef b. Ṣedaqa, aka Naqqash, in connection with a shop the pair had held together as moneychangers, though it is worth noting the scribe probably intended "fī al-ṣayārīf" as a locational reference. For example, this phrase may connote "fī [wakālat] al-ṣayārīf", a large commercial cooperative building in downtown Cairo, near the Jewish quarter, in which sarrafs held individual shops by the eighteenth century (Raymond, Artisans et Comerçants, Vol. I, 336-337, 376). As per the terms of the debt settlement, Yiṣḥaq b. David al-Kohen agrees to repay his former partner the rather large sum of 75 gold ashrafī in monthly installments of 3 ashrafī (25 months) starting in the month of Kislev (5325 AM). There are additional notes below this court record related to the same case, comprising an unfinished draft of the next entry in the register record #68, where another debt, of 100 [ashrafī] jadīd, is listed with a two-month repayment period that ends in Ḥeshvan (right before the one described here in record #67 is set to begin at 3 ashrafī per month).
