מכתב מתומך באלכסנדריה אל הנשיא שלמה בן ישי בפוסטאט. התיארוך המשוער: סביבות 1240. הכותב הגיע לאלכסנדריה לרגל עסקי מסחר, על מנת לטפל בהזמנה של כריות, שטיחים, גלימות ומצנפות עבור הנשיא, אשר נעשתה אצל בעלי מלאכה מקומיים. גם הדיין המקומי, ר' אלעזר הדיין, היה מעורב בטיפול בהזמנת הנשיא. במכתב מוזכר גם שאנשי אלכסנדריה משתוקקים לשמוע את שיעוריו ודרשותיו של הנשיא. המידע מבוסס על גיל, במלכות ישמעאל, כרך 2, מס' 100.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from a supporter in Alexandria to the nasi Shelomo b. Yishay, Fustat. Dating: ca. 1240. The writer arrived in Alexandria on commercial business to deal with an order of pillows, carpets, robes, and turbans for the nasi made by local artisans. The local judge, R. Elʿazar ha-Dayyan, was also involved with the Nasi's order. Also mentions that the people of Alexandria are eager to hear the Nasi’s lessons and lectures.
