מכתב מאת מצמון בן חסן בעדן אל אברהם בן יג'ו. תיארוך: בערך 1135 לספירה. ידועים שרידים של ארבעה או חמישה העתקים של המכתב הזה. גויטיין ופרידמן מסמנים את הקטע הנוכחי כהעתק 2. זהו ההעתק הנקי החדש שהכין הסופר על בסיס המקור של מצמון (העתק 1). אל ההעתק הנקי של הסופר הוסיף מצמון שתי תוספות (postscripts) בצד ה-verso. העתקי המכתב הם כדלקמן: העתק 1 — המקור של מצמון. בצדו השני של העתק זה כתב אבן יג'ו רישומי חשבונות. העתק 2 — ההעתק הראשון מידי הסופר; זהו המסמך הנוכחי. העתק 3 — ההעתק השני מידי הסופר. החיבור הישיר בין שני קטעיו זוהה על ידי אלן אלבאום. העתק 4 והעתק 5 — שני העתקים נוספים. העתקים 1–3 זוהו ופורסמו על ידי גויטיין ופרידמן בשנת 2008 בספרם על סוחרי הודו. העתקים 4–5, וכן החיבור הישיר להעתק 3, התגלו בשנת 2023.

Princeton Geniza Project description: IB II, 24. Letter from Maḍmūn b. Ḥasan, in Aden, to Avraham Ibn Yiju. Dating: ca. 1135 CE. There are fragments of four or five copies of this letter. Goitein and Friedman label this fragment Copy 2. This is the scribe's clean, new copy of Maḍmūn's original, Copy 1. To the scribe's clean copy, Maḍmūn has added two postscripts on the verso. The copies of the letter are as follows: Copy 1 (Maḍmūn's original): II,22 (T-S NS J240r) + II,22a (Moss. IV,21.1) + II,23 (T-S 20.137r), PGPID 5448. The verso of this copy has accounts written by Ibn Yijū (PGPID 5537). Copy 2 (first copy by the clerk): II,24 (T-S NS J1), this document. Copy 3 (second copy by the clerk): II,21 (T-S NS J241) + II,21c (T-S AS 158.393), PGPID 5455. Join: Alan Elbaum. Copy 4 and copy 5: II,21a (JRL Series B 4089); II,21b (T-S AS 151.222), PGPID 5233. Copies 1–3 were identified and published in Goitein and Friedman (2008), India Traders. Copies 4–5, as well as a direct join (II,21c) for Copy 3, were found by ASE in 2023.
